Fly from Land's End, Newquay or Exeter

Cruise from Penzance to the Isles of Scilly

Sail on Scillonian III to Scilly from Penzance, and take in the Cornish coastline as quaint fishing coves, the world famous Minack Theatre, and the Land’s End penninsula slip quietly by. Your arrival by sea is an enchanting start to your holiday. Sailing from Penzance to St Mary’s with a journey time of approx 2.5 hours. Just before you dock on St Mary’s there will be an announcement advising you of the time of the next boat to Bryher.

Car Parking

All departure points on the mainland have car parking facilities. There is no need to pre-book parking and you pay on your return. For more information and up to date charges please consult their website. At Newquay and Land’s End Airports it is advisable to pre-book parking to ensure you get the best rates. There is more information on the Isles of Scilly Travel website If you are travelling by sea please note that there are no parking facilities on Penzance Quay. The Isles of Scilly Travel website ( features an up to date list of car park providers in the area. It is advisable to pre-book these facilities.


There is a rail service across the UK to Penzance (which is the end of the railway line in the South West). Penzance train station is convenient for onward travel by plane from Land’s End (Isles of Scilly Travel run a minibus service from the train station to Lands End Airport which takes approx 20 minutes); and by sea (the Quay is just a 5-10 minute walk from the train station). The shuttle services run approximately one hour before your flight but make enquiries when you book your travel. Alternatively, there is a taxi rank directly outside the train station. In addition to the usual daytime rail service between London and Penzance there is a Night Riviera Sleeper train service which operates between London Paddington and Penzance from Sunday to Friday. We recommend booking a sleeper berth so you can get some rest before your onward journey to the islands. For up to date timetables and fares consult the First Great Western website.
