Food & Drink
The new Bryher Shop and Post Office opened in June 2011 and has taken over from the old shop on the north side of the island. The shop has relocated to ‘the town’ and is just up from the crossroads looking out towards the Western Rocks. We have a very wide range of groceries, including freshly baked bread, pasties, homemade cakes, ice cream, fresh meats and fruit and vegetables. The shop has a deli counter packed full of cheeses, salamis, pates, and olives; perfect for picnics. We also have a selection of camping equipment, toys, stationary and beach accessories. The shop offers a free home delivery service and you can order online so everything can be in your cottage for your arrival. We cater for special dietary requirements and stock a variety of gluten free and soya products (please enquire). Check out our website for the full range and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any special requirements. We look forward to seeing you at the new shop!

Fraggle Rock Bar (often referred to as ‘the pub’, even by Jamie Oliver food mag!) where you can enjoy a wide range of wines, spirits and beers or just soak up the sun with a soft drink or cappuccino. We serve food most days in the season but it’s always worth checking ahead to make sure we are cooking. Wherever possible we use produce from local suppliers, otherwise nearly all our food and drink is purchased in Cornwall from companies like St. Austell Brewery, Origin Coffee and Westcountry Fruit and Veg.
Hell Bay Hotel
Hell Bay Hotel welcomes non residents daily for morning coffee, lunches, afternoon teas and evening drinks on our terrace. Evening meals in the 3 rosette restaurant, the bar for evening snacks or the Crab Shack for Bryher caught crab are all by reservation only and are bookable direct through Hell Bay Hotel.
Hillside Farm Vegetable Stall
Hillside Farm is a small working farm situated towards the southern end of Bryher. In Spring and Summer we sell vegetables, salad crops, strawberries, cut flowers and free range eggs from our stall alongside the farmhouse.
Island Fish Limited is a new venture by the Pender family - including Mike and Sue who many visitors to Bryher will already know as the 'lobster man'. Continuing a long held family tradition three generations of 'Penders' plus a Frazer have now joined forces to ensure that Bryher is THE seafood capital of Scilly. Island Fish can be found just to the left of Vine Café and offers a range of the following: lobster, fresh or cooked ready to eat, crab, whole or picked white meat, dressed crab, potted crab, crab quiche, lobster and crab baps (perfect for picnics!) lobster salads, fish pie and lobster lasagne. Fresh Fish also available. You can order or simply pop in and see what we have in our fish counter – it’s always well stocked. Island Fish is open: Monday - Saturday: 9.30 - 5.30 and Sunday 9.30 - 12.00. Alternatively you can place an order by phone or email and simply collect at your convenience!
Veronica Farm Fudge Stall
This little fudge company started 20 years ago, and the fudge was made using the farmhouse Aga. We still make it by hand, but in a dedicated fudge kitchen and it still uses local milk, butter and clotted cream. The small batches, using traditional pans, are packed daily to catch the next post in a beautiful box and sturdy outer, to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. This quality product is also sold at various outlets on the Islands and at the farm gate. You can order online on our website.

Vine Cafe is a small, family-run cafe situated in “the town” in what was originally Vine Farm flower and bulb shed. The cafe is open daily from early March to the end of October for hot and cold beverages, breakfasts, sandwiches, snack lunches, home-made cakes and cream teas. Home cooked meals are served some evenings (2 or 3 nights a week low season, 5 or 6 nights a week school summer holidays) and a delivery service is available by arrangement for those who have difficulty getting out in the evenings. The evening meal is a set dinner (fruit juice, main course, dessert + tea/coffee) and booking is essential....in high season people often phone ahead to book as space is limited. There is always a vegetarian option and special dietary needs (e.g. vegan, gluten-free etc) can be catered for...please let us know your requirements in advance. The cafe is not licensed so your are welcome to bring your own wine (no corkage charge). For further details or to book contact Cath and Brendan.
Please note that the dress code of Scilly is very relaxed. Casual dress is perfectly acceptable everywhere though people tend to opt for smarter attire in hotel restaurants.
